Leaside Village

The historic industrial site has been restored and expanded into a multi-tenant commercial retail complex. The design incorporates a series of pedestrian oriented small buildings sited so as to eliminate large parking lots normally associated with large shopping centers. Energy for all new buildings for heating and cooling is provided by a geothermal installation under the parking lot. The implemented energy efficient building measures include improved building envelop thermal performance, geothermal heating and cooling and high efficiency HVAC and refrigeration equipment. The new design will consume 50% less energy than conventional commercial retail buildings.
